Striped Flowers

I tried a new technique for this card. I put the distress inks in stripes on the paper and then I stamped and embossed the image in white on top of the inked up paper. This card looks much better in real life. I really need to learn how to better use my camera.  :)  Anyone have any tips?

Hope you're having a great weekend!

supplies: Hero Arts stamp, notecard and button, Martha Stewart punch, TH Distress Inks

  1. This is gorgeous, Kathy! I love the varied colors of the flowers! As for the camera tips, do you have any editing software that comes with the camera? I think slightly brighter lighting and cropping (even edges for all 4 sides)could easily enhance this photo. I used Picnik (has to have Pro account, I think) to edit my cards. Something to think about...let me know if you have any qustions.

  2. Gorgeous! Love this!...
Yes, I agree with Virginia... I think making the lighting or white balance brighter always makes a big differece when photographing cards.
But you really did a great job with that inking. Such a cool technique! :)

  3. Great rainbow effect! I find that white balance on Gimp (a free photo editing download) makes a huge difference. Love your card!! :)

  6. beautiful card, love this technique!!

(I like to put my photo in Flickr and then edit the image with picnic. This way I can crop and adjust the colour. You can also sharpen the image too which always makes cards look great! Then I add the photo to my blog.) :)
