I've been super busy lately and my poor blog has been neglected. When life gets in the way, sometimes, it has to be put on the back burner. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to play in any of the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenges lately, but I had just received some new dies, so I knew I had to play along with the current Diecember challenge. If you haven't seen it, check it out here.
One of my new SSS dies is this Clustered leaves die. I've been eyeing this die for quite some time and finally purchased it during the black Friday sales. I die cut the leaves out of vellum and then went to work with my distress inks for the background. I also die cut the oval in the panel and the flower. When all was said and done, I came up with this.
The greeting and the flower on this card are also SSS stamp sets. Love them both!
I hope you can play along with the challenge. Thanks for dropping by and have a great week!

Succulent Hello
Hi! I have a quick post today, as usual. :) I made this card to send to a friend as part of the share handmade kindness campaign that Jennifer McGuire has been doing. If you want to learn more, check out her blog.
I used the Simon Says Stamp Cups and Succulent set and colored all the images with Copic markers. I cut out the five succulents in the front to give the card a bit more dimension. The greeting is from a Hero Arts set and the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.
Hope you have a great weekend!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop
Hello and welcome to the CASEing Kelly blog hop! I hope you are enjoying the hop so far. I'm sure you can all tell how much we all love Kelly and her cards.
This first card of Kelly's amazes me....although I should say that all of Kelly's cards amaze me. :) I love the colors and the modern look of it.
This second card is so vibrant and the touch of black really makes those beautifully colored flowers pop, doesn't it?
And this third card is another beauty. Look at those pink flowers on that gorgeous background. What's not to love?!
The CASE:
I love the watercolored background that Kelly created on the first card so I did something similar on my card. I also love how she always colors her flowers with such vibrant colors so I added a bright pink flower to my card, along with the bright pink die cut greeting. I couldn't resist. And lastly, I love the touch of black she adds to make the other colors pop so I added a black border and stamped part of the greeting in black ink.
Thanks Kelly for your awesome CASEing Genius blog posts. You and your cards inspires us all! :)
What is a blog hop without some fun prizes?! Leave a comment by 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors: a2z Scrapbooking, Altenew, Create a Smile Stamps, Dee's Artsy Impressions, djkardkreations, Hero Arts, Ink Road, Lia Stampz and Simon Says Stamp! Hero Arts Holiday Challenge
Hello! Have you seen the new Holiday challenge over on the Hero Arts blog? I didn't have a chance to play in the last challenge so I thought I'd play along in this one. I love the Color Layering Christmas Trees set so I whipped up a few cards using it.
I stamped the card base with the Hand drawn Snowflakes Bold print background cling stamp (love!). I used 3 different colors of green mid-tone inks for the trees along with the Red Royal mid-tone ink for the greeting. I added a couple strips of glittered card stock on the 2nd card and then added some Hero Arts gems to the trees for a festive and finishing touch.
If you haven't played along yet, you have until November 12th, so you'd better get busy. :)

Crazy Birds and Boss's Day
Hi there! So I needed to make a Boss's Day card last week and thought, what could be better than the Crazy Birds stamp set for this? Here's the card I created.
Each bird "sort of" represents each person on our work team. :) I love this Crazy Birds set. They just make me laugh every time I use them. Anyway, I used Zig markers for the background and then colored the birds with Copic markers. I also used the Sizzix dies to cut them out and arrange them on the card.
Hope you have a great week!

Hot Dog, It's Your Birthday!
Hi there! I'm finally back to post a few cards. I needed some birthday cards and I recently bought the Lawn Fawn Critters at the Dog Park stamp and die set so I created this Fall-themed card using that set. Love this LF set! The person I gave this card to is a dog lover, so she really enjoyed this card. :)
On this second card, I used a combination of Hero Arts stamps from the Love Jar set and the Butterfly and Flower stamp and cut set.
Well that's all I have for today. Have a great week/weekend!

More Birds...yet again
So, apparently I've been ignoring my blog lately. :) I've just had a lot going on, but I'm going to try to post more often. Can't make any promises though.
Anyway, I've been loving the Tim Holtz Crazy Birds set so much that I had to get the dies for the birds and the Crazy Things set to go along with it. The Crazy Things set includes all kinds of accessories for the birds, like hats, balloons, ties, and holiday accessories too. Love it! So here's a card I made using all my new supplies.
I've made a few others too, so I'll be back to post those in a few days. Hope you're having a great week!

Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge
Hey there! Have you seen the new challenge over on the Hero Arts blog yet? It's a tic tac toe challenge. When I saw that, I knew I wanted to play along. It just took me some time to find some time (heehee) to make a card. :) Below is the tic tac toe grid from the Hero Arts blog.
When I made my card, I decided to use the middle row across the grid: background stamp, birthday theme and die cutting. And here's the card I created:
I used the Triangle background stamp and the OWH Missing You set for the greeting and the birds. I have the dies for that set too so I die cut them and colored them with Copic markers. This really is one of my all time favorite stamp sets! I also used a Hero Arts Pool notecard and the their mid-tone ink for the tone on tone look.
I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge. It's a fun challenge for making you think outside the box….or should I say, think inside the grid. :)

Crazy Birds and SSS Flickr Challenge #20
Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I last posted here. Yikes! Anyway, I ordered these Crazy Birds stamps recently. They make me laugh every time I look at them. :) I also ordered the Artful Flowers set from Simon Says Stamp. I thought this set would be perfect for the Simon Says Stamp flickr challenge this week. It just started on Friday and the theme is all about summer, my favorite time of year! So, here are the cards I created.
In the card below, the Smile die is from the SSS June card kit. Love it!
I hope you have a great week with lots of friends and smiles. :) And I hope you get a chance to play in the SSS Flickr challenge too!

And this next card is for my Mother-in-law. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers set with liquid pearls in the middle of the flowers.
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! Enjoy your day!

Mixed Media Challenge - May Flowers
Hello! I'm just popping in for a quick post. I've been playing around again with mixed media on canvas and using several stamped flowers so I decided to enter this into the Mixed Media Monthly challenge #12 - May Flowers.
I used a lot of Tim Holtz distress inks, paints and his tissue wrap on this canvas, along with stencils, embossing paste and so much more! :) I also used stamps from Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn and Prima (Julie Nutting). I colored the flowers with Copic markers and I paper pieced the girl's dress.
My first mixed media project was an owl canvas. If you'd like to take a peek, you can check it out here. Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great week!

SSS Work It Wednesday
Have you seen the Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday challenge this month? They want to see what we are stamping right now -- new stamps or old stamps, it doesn't matter. The other day I stamped this girl image from the SSS New Beginning set and colored it with Copic markers. I finally got around to making a card with it this week.
I sent this card to my mother-in-law because she loves to do yoga. Hope you get a chance to play along in the challenge.

I've been interested in trying a mixed media project for quite awhile now. When I saw the Mixed Media Monthly challenge - Birds of a Feather, I thought I'd play along. Love these products.
Hope you have a great week! It's supposed to be in the 70s here today, amazing weather for March!

Mix it Up Challenge
Hello! Long time, no post. haha!
So I haven't played along with many challenges lately (too busy!) but when I read about the Mix it Up challenge on the Ellen Hutson - the Classroom blog, I knew I wanted to play along. Who doesn't love Hero Arts and the new Essentials by Ellen stamps? A combination of both on one card? Yes, please.
I wanted to make a clean and simple card and this is what I ended up creating.
What do you think? Is it clean and simple, or not so much? :) I used the Baby Animals stamp and cut set from Hero Arts and the Merry and Bright set from Essentials by Ellen. I love Julie Ebersole's stamp designs.
If you haven't played along yet, now is your chance! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop
If you have been hopping along, you’ve just arrived from Sarah's blog! Isn't she talented?
Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn comments. For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on ANY day, including each day’s starting post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning! How cool is that?!
I created a couple of cards with the new Baby Animals Stamp and Cut set. I love, love, love the bunny in this set so I decided to make an early Easter card.
I also needed a celebration type card, so I created this card. How cute are those baby animals combined with patterned balloons?
My last card is a shaker card with a new background stamp called Triangle background. I embossed the stamp with Hero Arts white embossing powder and then added distress inks.
Here is a more detailed look of the shaker part of the card. :)
I hope you're enjoying the hop! If you find a broken link, you'll find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Arts Club Blog. Also, please report broken links to: blog@heroarts.com.
Your next stop on the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop is my super sweet friend Nancy.
Supplies Used:
Baby Animals Stamp and Cut DC148
Perfect Day Stamp set

Birthdays are Awesome
I created this card for a special friend of mine. Her birthday is coming up soon and I want her to know just how awesome she is! :)
I love these succulent stamps from Simon Says Stamp. I colored them with Copic markers and added the patterned paper heart to the cup. Once the images were colored, it didn't take long to put the card together. I hope she likes it.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a wonderful week. Now I must go water my real succulents!

They post challenges every other week and you have a chance to win gift certificates to the SSS online store! Woohoo! What can be better than that? :)

I love Owls
Hello! I've been busy playing with some of my new Simon Says Stamp dies. They were Christmas gifts and I just love them! The card below was made with the Decorated Branch die. Isn't this die adorable? I added an older owl stamp because I just love owls. :) I also used an older Hero Arts background stamp called Flower Dot Pattern with Green Hills mid-tone ink to give the card a little more interest. And of course I added Glossy accents to the owl's eyes, the hearts and the presents because what would a card be without Glossy accents?!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have time to create something amazing today! See you next time.
