Gift Card Holders

I've been busy making gift card holders for Christmas.  Here are a few that I've made. (Sorry about the lighting in my photos. It's been rainy the last week or so and yesterday we got a bit of snow...just in time for Christmas!)

I probably won't post again before Christmas (this has been a very busy month!), so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Enjoy the holidays!

The Joy of Trees...

Just a quick share - another Christmas card.

Been really busy and haven't had much time to make cards, so not much else to share.  :)  Hope you have a great week!

One Stamp, Different Looks

I'm still working on Christmas cards. I made these awhile ago, but don't think I've ever posted them. I  used the same stamp on all 3 of these cards. I can't decide which one I like best.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great week!

Greatest Gift of All....

I love this Christmas Greatest Gift stamp set from Hero Arts. It's one of my favs. I say that all the time, don't I?  :)  I also love the Radiant Banner stamp.  I've used the same stamps to create two cards using different colors. Isn't it cool how different the cards look just because of the background colors?

Which one do you like better? The green or red?

Pink for Christmas?

Pink for a Christmas card? Hey, why not?  :)

That's all.  :)

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Ready for Red

I don't normally blog 2 days in a row, but I decided to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Ready for Red challenge this week and the deadline is tomorrow! Anyway, here is the inspiration photo...

....and below is my card.  I was inspired by the colors and the bold white on the darker background. I put the second half of the greeting on the inside of the card. It says, "...thinking of you."  The background is white embossed and I colored the chair with distress markers.  I used dimensional adhesives for the chair too, but it's hard to tell in this photo.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  :)

Hero Arts Scramble 51

We had another card scramble over in the Hero Arts Flickr group last week. The challenge was to make a Christmas card with non-traditional colors.  I came up with this:

I used all Hero Arts stamps, their mid-tone and shadow inks, and some Lawn Fawn paper. I'm still working on my Christmas cards, but I have 26 done now!  yippee!  :)  Have a great weekend!

Barb's Surprise Blog Hop

Today is a big day! It's my friend, Barb's birthday and we are doing a little Birthday blog hop for her!

I've been "online" friends with Barb for several years and we finally met in person at Scrapfest this year! There were several of us who met there and Barb made all the dinner plans and arrangements for all of us. We all had such a fun time and made great memories! Here is the card I made for Barb.

Happy Birthday Barb! I hope you have a day of smiles, laughter (I know you will) and many blessings! :)

Be sure to stop by Virginia's blog for more fun and check out all the blogs below to see their cards and to wish Barb a very Happy Birthday!

20 down....but many more to go

So far, I have about 20 Christmas cards made. Woohoo! Still have lots more to make. Love this new Lawn Fawn Let it Snow stamp set with the different trees. Makes it so easy to make a holiday/snow scene.

Are you still working on your Christmas and holiday cards?

Christmas in October??

I'm still working on my Christmas cards. This new Hero Arts greeting set called Miracle of the Holidays is awesome! It went perfectly with my nativity scene and the Radiant Banner background stamp.

I also used Lawn Fawn paper (the red background paper) and Authentique paper (the holly leaves). As always, thanks for stopping by.

More cards for WCMD

I created a few more cards for WCMD. I'm going to enter this first one into the Ellen Hutson Holiday Greetings Challenge with Julie Ebersole. I stamped the background greeting stamp with Colorbox white onto a Hero Arts notecard. Then I embossed the ornament and inked it up with some TH Barn Door distress ink. The dotted line and bows are from a Lawn Fawn set and the strip of paper at the bottom is from an Authentique Christmas 6x6 paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're having a great weekend!

World Card Making Day!

Today is World Card Making Day (WCMD), so what else is a girl to do other than make some cards?!  :)  I made this card for my sister and her hubby because they just bought a house.

I'm going to enter this in the WCMD Scene it challenge over at the Ellen Hutson Classroom blog. Ok, I'm off to make more cards. How about you? Are you making cards today?

Happy Haunting

Can't believe it's already October! I'm finishing the last of my Halloween cards and here's one I made last week for a friend of mine, but haven't had a chance to post it yet. Not much stamping on this card. Instead, I cut several pieces using the Silhouette and then punched a border on the right side of the card front and added patterned paper to the right side of the inside of the card. The spider web in the background was done with an embossing folder.

Hope you're October is off to a spooky start! :)

More Halloween Cards....

I didn't realize I hadn't posted in such a long time. I've been busy with work, stuff at home and traveling. I went to Scrapfest at the Mall of America last weekend. I had a great time meeting new friends and going to classes, doing make and takes, etc. Was great to finally meet people (in person) who I've known online for such a long time. Lots of fun memories! Also really enjoyed getting to know my travel partner, Linda! Every time we took the shuttle from the hotel to the mall, Linda and I thought we were in the movie, Ground Hog Day. :)

Anyway, I've been working on Halloween cards the last few weeks.  Here are a few more I've made. I use this Hero Arts owl stamp all the time. He works for lots of different occasions. You can see him on some of my other cards here and here.

These Halloween stamps below are an older set from Hero Arts (except for the balloon). It's from one of their stamp and cut sets exclusive to Archivers. Love them!

And the spider web embossing folder below was given to me by a new friend, Ava. She was also at Scrapfest and we took classes together and shared some great times and laughs! Thanks Ava!

Well that's it for today. Hope you're having a good Sunday and you have a great week!

CASology Challenge #10 Sky

I created this card for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word this week is Sky.

I've been making my Halloween cards and I thought this fit right into the sky category. The base of this card is actually a light purple, but it looks kind of pink in this photo. I love the bright full moon! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Every year, I like to make goofy/fun Halloween cards...and this year is no exception. :)  Here's what I've come up with so far.

I've submitted both of these cards for the September contest over at Hero Arts. Hope you get to play along too.

Counting down the days until Scrapfest. :)

Hero Arts August Contest

I submitted this card for the Hero Arts August Contest....just in the knick of time!  :) I used one of the August sketches and turned it upside down...sort of. I used the die cut flower from the Bold Pops set to make the petals and the Word Art birthday stamp for the center of the flower. I love this new Basic Grey cupcake and arrow paper too. I was trying to go for a CAS card, but not sure it's CAS enough.

What do you think? Is this considered a CAS card or not so much?  :)

CASology Challenge #5 Pond

I created this card for the CASology challenge this week. The cue word this week is Pond.

When I think of a pond, I think of frogs and this is the only frog stamp I have. Wish I had a turtle too. This frog is supposed to look like he's jumping from the pond, but I'm not sure he does.  Anyway, I used all Hero Arts stamps and some of their shadow inks too.

Hope you get to play along with the challenge this week.

Hooked on Hexagons....

Moxie Fab World has a Hooked on Hexagons challenge going on now. I love my Sizzix hexagon die so I created this card for the challenge. I love the Amy Tangarine Sketchbook 6x6 paper pad. I die cut a whole bunch of hexies and then pieced them onto a scrap piece of card stock before adding them to the card base. The greeting stamp is from the Hero Arts/Basic Grey Patterned Hearts and Flowers set. This card is very busy. Hope it doesn't make you dizzy just looking at it. lol! :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Ms. Owl and Challenge #8 at ABNH

I'm playing along with the challenge #8 over at A Blog Named Hero this week. It's called Inspired by Hero Arts Artists.

My card below was inspired by Shari Carroll's card here.

This Hero Arts Big Eyes Owl stamp is one of my favs right now.  I can't tell you just how much I love it! :)  I stamped it twice on white paper and used Barn Door distress ink to color one owl red. Then I cut out the eyes, beak and feet from the other to paper piece on top of the red owl. I also used the Hero Arts Lattice Background stamp which is another fav right now! I decided to leave off the greeting and add it to the inside instead.  Oh, I added Glossy Accents to the center of the Ms. Owl's eyes to give them some sparkle. :) It's hard to tell in the photo, but the patterned strip toward the bottom of the card is actually washi tape. Isn't Ms. Owl cute?  :)

Die Cut flower

After seeing all of Barb's cards here using this flower die cut, I knew I had to buy it. Barb, I thank you, but my wallet, not so much. haha! :)  I love this die cut and the Basic Grey What's Up paper pack.  I used an older Hero Arts greeting and some faux stitching to finish off the card.

Hope you're having a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab World The Love Card Challenge

I love the Stamp It magazines. Love them. I created this card to play along with the Moxie Fab World Stamp It week - The Love Card Challenge.  I thought this Hero Arts Big Eyes Owl went great with the Basic Grey What's Up patterned paper. I added Glossy accents to the center of his big eyes and to the hearts on the card. The owl and the cloud are adhered with dimensional foam squares to give the card some depth. This owl is one of my most favorite Hero Arts stamps!

Hope you're having a great week. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Simon Says...Sporty and/or Patriotic Challenge

I created this card to enter in the Simon Says Sporty and/or Patriotic challenge.  I went with the Patriotic theme. My nephew's birthday is in July and I thought this would be a good birthday card for him. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and some Basic Grey paper from the Life of the Party 6x6 pack. I also used the Star Nestabilities dies. Love them! The greeting is from the Hero Arts Wish Big clear stamp set.

Wish me BIG luck!  Ha! :)

I created this card for a friend of mine. I colored the stamped image with Copic markers and then added glossy accents over all the flowers and leaves. I paired it with a Hero Arts greeting stamp. I love this patterned paper. It's from the 6x6 Sketchbook pad by Amy Tangerine. So many great papers in it!

This girl stamp is an older Hero Arts stamp and I paired it with some newer stamps (the balloons). I colored her with Copic markers and then paper pieced her dress, the flowers in her hair and her garden boots. I added twine for the balloon strings.
